I am preparing for the workshops this weekend as part of the Cookham Festival Arts Hub
We are going to make a slab pot, textured with material or shells or anything else we find. The edges are overlapping to avoid removing the texture and then assembled onto a circular base. These pots have been made using doilies and net curtains.
Then we will make some pinch pots, the hardest thing here is to make the pots tall and not flat like a plate. It takes just the right amount of pressure between the thumb and fingers, much more difficult than you might imagine.
Finally if we have time we will attempt an animal, I enjoy making these rabbits but the ears can be rather delicate and tend to dry out so we will pull them last. To avoid this we can try making my rather fat but quizzical cat.
